Weekly Roundup – 02/24/06

It’s that time again… Here’s a look at what caught my eye over the past week on the MoneyBlogNetwork and beyond…

Jim over at Blueprint has a great summary of how long you should plan on keeping various finance-related documents. Also, I thought y’all might be interested in a new site called Grill Maestro that he has launched. It’s a weblog dedicated to all things barbecue (more on this below), and it’s kind of fun to poke around and see what he’s written. Check it out!

JLP of AllThingsFinancial continues his 24 Days series with Day 12: Kids and Money. As many of you know, we have four kids, so this is a topic that is near and dear to my heart. And while we’re on the topic of JLP, I have a great idea for a sister site to AllThingsFinancial — AllThingsBarbecue! Then again, that would put him into direct competition with Jim’s Grill Maestro, and things could get ugly…

Flexo of ConsumerismCommentary addresses the age old question of whether it’s better to owe taxes, or to get a refund at the end of the year. There’s also a pretty good discussion of the topic in the comments section.

FMF of FreeMoneyFinance offers a couple of really simple money saving tips when it comes to window blinds (one and two). Try it out, you may save a buck or two…

Madame X of MyOpenWallet talks a bit about coupons and whether you should pay attention to them or ignore them.

The always-entertaining Cap of StopBuyingCrap reviews Privacy Guard and Credit Keeper.

Caitlin of Clutter2Cash has been experiencing fluctuating gas bills just like we have (here, here and here).

Guess what? Even H&R Block has trouble getting their taxes done right!
