I’ve mentioned in that past that I’m a huge fan of TripAdvisor for researching our travel plans. Well, last night I got an e-mail from them containing a list of the ten places that TripAdvisor users searched for most often during the month of August. Here it is:
- Las Vegas, NV
- Cancun, Mexico
- Paris, France
- San Francisco, CA
- New York, N.Y.
- Punta Cana, D.R.
- London, England
- Maui, HI
- Playa del Carmen, Mexico
- Orlando, FL
Sounds like fun! I’ve only been to four five of the ten, how about you?
I’ve only been to three: Vegas (I’m okay with never going back there), Orlando, and New York (didn’t really see much of it). I was just making a list of places I wanted to visit, but none of the “Top Ten” were on my list.
Been to six. Most of us who love world travel would probably agree that this is really the top ten list of places to avoid!
I’ve only been to one place on the list and haven’t been out of my home state for over three years. There’s pros and cons with that; I’m not “well-traveled” but I saved money.
There’s no PORTUGAL in that list!!!
It’s so cliché….so many other beautiful places in the world and 8 outta 10 are from North/Central America?!?
These travel fans don’t inovate????
No Egypt? No Croatia? No Australia? No Finland? No Austria?
What lack of imagination….
I am reading this from my hotel room in Las Vegas right now. Two days ago on Wednesday it was quiet but this place is too crowded and tourist filled Friday night, labor day weekend.
Also I committed a frugality sin and must confess and repent. Lost $100 on the roulette wheel tonight playing red/black or columns. How can someone lose $100 and every bet for 12/12 consecutive spins of the wheel? Must be an all time losing streak record. Beans and cabbage to eat for the next 2 weeks as punishment for me.
I’ve been to none of them. Guess I’m too frugal to value international travel. Or, maybe just to boring !
I’ve been to 4, all the American cities.
Been to all of them except #6. I live in #5 and have been to #1 a few dozen times (go to Vegas around 4 or 5 times a year). But I have to say Vegas is starting to suck, each time I go its more and more full of hoods, cheap imitations of nice clubs, and non-stop fleecing. Plus the gambling is starting to suck for anyone betting less than $100 per hand (and even $100 per hand is getting too low). Basically if you go to Vegas with less than a minimum of $10k on you for a weekend don’t expect to get any real service, you’re just part of the masses.
I’ve been to 8. All but Punta Cana (although I did visit other islands in the Caribbean) and Playa del Carmen. No plans to go to either place any time soon.
I’ve been to 4 of them and live in the 5th. In a year, I will be able to go to all except 2 (Cancun & DR).
Woohoo, 6! Although i’m not sure visiting the places with your family can be considered “fun”. haha… or being 5 years old, but technically i’ve been to them 😉
Only been to 4, looking forward to Punta Cana and hawaii
I have been to 4 of them. I was in Paris and London about 3 months ago and then Las Vegas about 3 weeks ago. I have also visited San Francisco, but that was about 10 years ago.
@KC
I don’t mean to be rude, but who in their right mind would want to go to Chicago?
Six here
I’ve only been to 3 – NY, London and Orlando (spring training, not that Disney crap). I can’t believe Chicago didn’t make it. And why would anyone want to go to Vegas? There is nothing to do there but gamble. I don’t have kids but I wouldn’t take them there if I did.
I’ve been to 5 of the 10.
I’ve been to seven of the ten and will most likely go to the remaining three (#6, #8 and #9) in the next few years.
been to one of them 10+ times …. i guess that’s why it’s number one 🙂
