Since I had a few days to spare before the cancellation deadline and I didn’t want to deal with talking to a live CSR on the phone, I clicked the link to send them an e-mail. When you do that, you’re taken to a form where you can click a radio button for “Cancellation, ” and another one for the product you are canceling (the “Score Watch Free Trial“).

You’ll then be taken to a form where they ask you to enter some personally-identifying information to complete the request. Note that they did ask for my Order #, though it wasn’t required. I went ahead and dug up my confirmation e-mail just to be safe, but you should be fine without it.

That’s it. I received confirmation that they had cancelled my trial the next morning. Very, very easy.

Is it simply me or does it appear like a few of these responses look like
they are left by brain dead folks? 😛 And, if you are writing on other
social sites, I’d like to keep up with everything new you have to post.

You may notice that the concept of compensation plan may seem to be common in the networking industry.
For professional web site builders extra complex laptop software program for net design is needed.
You wont get a true imitation of your signature with this Android app, unless you can cleverly manipulate
the mechanics behind its operation, but that is highly unlikely.

This is unethical on FICO’s part and ought to be illegal. How much of your customers’ time have you wasted in order to make a few extra bucks off of unsuspecting participants FICO? I’m on hold right now for over 10 minutes. I followed the instructions on the order form: “To cancel the trial offer, go to the Support Center and follow the instructions in the “How do I cancel my free score trial?” topic.” That topic is hard to find if you don’t enter in the phrase exactly. It then takes you to a page that gives you reasons not to cancel, but provides no instructions on how to cancel.

Do not do this. Save your time and patience and just pay the $8 for a score report from Equifax. You’ll probably feel better about the world too.

I finally got someone on the phone after 12 minutes on hold. She was polite and cancelled my account. It seems calling is the only way to cancel. She said they’re updating the system and in order to have all my concerns and questions answered correctly they’re requiring people to call to cancel their account. Full on red herring. At least she cancelled my account.

All of the tips for the website didn’t work for me. It kept telling me to call the 888 number. Just called the 888 number to cancel. Took less than 5 min and she was very nice. Received my cancellation email within 2 min of hanging up. **I called within 10 minutes of them opening, though (6am PST) and I think that makes all the difference.**

I called the 888 number to cancel on the same day my trial started. Was on hold for about four minutes and then spoke to a representative for about two minutes. She asked two questions regarding why I wanted to cancel and then made an offer of 9.95/month instead of 14.95/month which I declined.

It’s annoying to have to call but overall it wasn’t too much of a hassle.

I simply called the 888 number provided. Was on hold for less than 5 mins. Told the gentleman that I wanted to cancel. He made me an offer. I politely refused and we were done. This, two days before my free trial ended to avoid any timing issues.

I can confirm that the method listed by the 13th person still works.

    1. Go to contact us
    2. select a topic other than “cancel…”
    3. select your product
    4. hit next
    5. Change the topic in the url to cancel. should look like: ?topic=cancel&productid=2016
    6. go to that URL. You should be able to send a cancellation email and see a confirmatition page that your account has been cancelled.

As of 8 p.m. Dec. 20, the method suggested by the 13th person to post in this thread does not work. I did we that person suggested (put ‘cancel’ after ‘topic=’). The page did come up, but when I selected the ‘send my question’ button, it sent me the following message:

“The page you have requested is currently unavailable due to technical difficulties. Please try again later.”

It seems they want to get you to call if you are trying to cancel, rather than just submitting the email through their website. You can get around this by selecting a different topic i.e. ‘billing question’, and select the product you want to cancel. A new page with form fields will pop up for you to enter your email ‘billing’ question … now go to your URL address bar and after ‘topic=’ just replace the current value with ‘cancel’ (no quotes) … this will bring up the appropriate cancel page for you to submit your cancel request.

The weird thing about this is that every time I tried to cancel the scorewatch it would tell me to call CSR but when I put something else on the dialog boxes it directed me to the email page… And their website is definitely not user friendly. everything is so confusing.

I was able to select cancellation and score watch today from the link. Even received the verification of cancellation email but I will be watching my card.

It looks like the bastards removed the “Cancellation” radio option from the contact form. I selected “I have a billing question” and typed in that I wanted it canceled. They didn’t copy me on the email either. If I don’t get a response today I’ll be calling them tomorrow.

Don’t see the point of a monthly subscription if it doesn’t let me see the latest score every month! CreditKarma is way better.

    Hi David –

I had the same exact issue with the 10 day trial. I also spoke with Kerry, Donna and eventually Edwin. Did you have any recourse? It’s amazing to me that a company that is responsible for such important monitoring has such bias, unethical policies.

Worst company in America, I will be reporting them to several high profile Consumer websites.

The ten day free trial requires cancellation by email or phone. I attempted to cancel by phone on the tenth day. It was Sunday and their office was closed. The next day was Labor Day and their office was closed. I called to cancel on the next available business day and was told by the customer service representative and the three supervisors I was transferred to, that the free trial had already ended. I repeated that their office was not open on the tenth day. They said you should have called earlier or sent an email. I pointed out that their policy doesn’t say that ten days to cancel doesn’t apply to phone calls and that pretty much every business in the world allows the next business day to be the deadline for a cancellation that occurs when their office is closed. But not these guys. I asked for the name of the company president. They refused to disclose. I asked the last supervisor, Edwin, where their office was located. He said the United States. He eventually said Texas. I asked what city. He would not disclose that. Bottom line is that whatever else you find useful about them don’t get anywhere near relying on them to interpret a policy in your favor.

I just went online to get freescore they could not process my information. They said there was a security issue. I know what it was so I tried to start over ,it would not let me. So I called my bank and they put a stop to $3.00 they were already trying to take. There was no mention of 1.00 per report. I also put a stop on free score trying to take $19.95 a month. Problem solved. I will continue along with my banker to make sure they have no access to my account Hope this helps

    The irony, of it…

I logged on for the first time in months, and wanted to cancel before my annual subscription renews. No where is there an anniversary date, or account info that shows what card was charged originally.

Even eBay and Paypal let you see history of charges. Yet, a company that deals with your accounting records doesn’t even let you know what card is on file. Crazy.

I did this awhile back and tried to cancel over the phone. Big mistake. They said it would be very difficult and then went on and on about the great features and if I was interested in signing up. I declined again and again, but it took 10 minutes to get my account closed without charging my credit card.

We order a free credit report every four months (1 from each of the three credit bureas each year) through the government run annualCreditReport.com website.

You don’t get a credit score number, but at least you can verify whether the information in your report (which the number is based on) is accurate / identity theft prevention.

If you ever renew car insurance, or any other type of thing that requires them to run your credit score, normally they will tell you your score if you ask (for free). If they deny you for credit reasons, then they are required to furnish this information.
