what if you want those 50,000 bonus points in cash, would the value no longer be $500?
FYI – I did apply and the fees were waived.
@Nickel
I actually commented on the wrong post not realizing I had clicked the incorrect link…however as David notes there seems to be a slightly different offer on their website than the link you gave.

I think I MIGHT be able to clear up the WAIVING of fees.
On the application you find on citicards.com the sign up bonus is only 20,000 points but the fees are waived.
On the application you link to – the sign up bonus is 50,000 points but the fees are not waived.
HOWEVER, I got the 50,000 bonus point offer in the mail, with the fees waived – better than either of the above 2 options!
Travis: From the site after clicking through:
“Earn 50,000 bonus ThankYou® Points after $2,000 in purchases within 3 months of account opening…”
It’s clearly $2k in 3 months, not the reverse.
Also, I don’t see anything about the annual fee being waived. It would be great if it is, but I just double-checked and can’t find that info. If you can direct me to it, I’ll happily update the site.
According to the terms on the site the fee is waived for the first year and you must spend 3K in 2 months.
